Dr Jonathan Yeoh specialises in the surgical and medical treatment of retinal disease including retinal detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration and retinal vascular disorders.
Jonathan completed his undergraduate university degree at the University of Sydney and trained in general ophthalmology at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.
He has completed subspecialty fellowships in vitreoretinal surgery and medical retina both at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and subsequently at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Jonathan has ongoing research interests at the Centre for Eye Research Australia.
He is a consultant vitreoretinal surgeon and medical retina specialist at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. Jonathan is a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists.

A/Prof Sanj Wickremasinghe completed his ophthalmology training in the UK at Moorfields Eye Hospital, during which time he completed sub-speciality training in Medical Retina and Uveitis. He undertook a second Medical Retina Fellowship at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital that incorporated both clinical and research experience.
Since 2009 he has held appointments at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and at the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA)* where he was recently appointed an Associate Professor. He has conducted his own research into the treatment and investigation of factors affecting the outcomes of treatment in patients with neovascular age related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
He is a principal investigator in several multi-centre international and national drug trials of new treatments in macular degeneration, diabetic macular oedema and retinal vein occlusion and has written over sixty peer reviewed articles for top ranked journals. He is a section editor forClinical and Experimental Ophthalmology and is a reviewer for several major ophthalmology journals, including the Archives of Ophthalmology and British Journal of Ophthalmology.
He has given invited presentations throughout the Australia Pacific region as well as in the United Kingdom. He has been a clinical examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists for the last 5 years and is a member of the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital Hum Research and Ethics Committee. He holds memberships of the American Society of Retinal Specialists and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists.

DR SUKHPAL SINGH SANDHU

Dr Sukhpal Singh Sandhu graduated from the University of Manchester and did his ophthalmology training in Newcastle, United Kingdom. He obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree for his research into the imaging of diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
He did a Medical Retina Fellowship at RVEEH and currently holds an appointment in the Medical Retina clinic there. He is actively involved in research at Centre for Eye Research Australia, being a part of the Clinical Trials and Research Unit. He is a principal investigator in several industry-sponsored trials in AMD and diabetes and also pursues his own research interests. As well as his interest in Medical Retina, he is an experienced cataract surgeon
DR ROSIE DAWKINS

Dr Rosie Dawkins is vitreoretinal surgeon. She has expertise in all areas of vitreoretinal surgery including retinal detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, complicated lens problems, and diabetic retinopathy. She has a strong interest in new developments in vitreo-retinal surgery.
Dr Dawkins undertook ophthalmology training in Melbourne at the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital (RVEEH). She subsequently completed a Fellowship in Medical and Surgical Retina in Cambridge. Here she developed an interest in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of inherited retinal detachments, as well as training in all aspects of medical and surgical retina. On her return to Melbourne she completed a further Fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery at RVEEH.
Dr Dawkins has a strong interest in research, with an appointment at the University of Melbourne. Her laboratory research and Masters degree were undertaken at Harvard University. Dr Dawkins is also engaged with global ophthalmology, and previously lived in Timor-Leste, providing ophthalmology services as well as training local doctors and undertaking research for service development.
DR ROBYN TROUTBECK

Dr Robyn Troutbeck completed her ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital in 2008. She subsequently undertook a fellowship in Medical Retina at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear hospital for 18 months followed by another year at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital specialising in uveitis.
Since returning to Melbourne, she is working as a consultant at the Eye and Hospital in the Ocular Immunology Clinic and is a Clinical Lead in the Acute Ophthalmology Service. She also works in the Medical retina clinic at Monash Medical Centre where she is actively involved in clinical trials. She enjoys teaching registrars and fellows.
Robyn’s special interests include macula degeneration and diabetic retinopathy and other vascular diseases, as well as the management of patients with uveitis.
DR ALEX IOANNIDIS
MBBS, FRCOphth, FRANZCO
Dr Alex Ioannidis is primarily a Cataract Surgeon and Anterior Segment specialist.
He graduated in medicine from the University of London and subsequently undertook specialist training at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He has completed two Anterior Segment Fellowships; in Cornea and External Diseases at Sydney Eye Hospital and in Glaucoma at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Prior to relocating to Australia he worked as Consultant Ophthalmologist at Kings College Hospital NHS Trust in London.
Dr Ioannidis’ main area of expertise is small incision Cataract Surgery. He performs both conventional and Femto-Second Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery (FLACS) offering the latest in intraocular lens technology including toric, bifocal and trifocal intraocular lenses for the correction of astigmatism and presbyopia.
Dr Ioannidis performs a number of innovative techniques to treat Anterior Segment diseases including collagen cross-linking for keratoconus, suture-less micrograft pterygium surgery, and management of a wide range of ocular surface conditions with anterior segment reconstruction techniques. He also performs combined iStent inject surgery for patients with Cataracts and Glaucoma.
He has published widely on a wide range of topics and has presented his work at national and international level.
Dr Ioannidis works as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is actively involved in the surgical teaching of residents and registrars. He also holds an Honorary Clinical Lectureship at the University of Melbourne and teaches medical students.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists as well as a Member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
DR CHING NG

Dr Ching Ng is a medical retina specialist as well as a cataract surgeon. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Melbourne where she graduated with Honours. She went on to specialise in ophthalmology, completing her specialty training at the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital. Dr Ng subsequently completed a subspecialty Fellowship in Medical Retina at the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital, where she now holds a public appointment as a Consultant Ophthalmologist.
Dr Ng is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, as well as a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists. She is dedicated to providing professional, caring and up-to-date patient care.
DR MALI OKADA
Dr Mali Okada is a sub-specialty trained Medical Retina and Vitreoretinal specialist. She is a consultant at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and is a senior researcher with The University of Melbourne’s Centre for Eye Research Australia. She is interested in the management of diseases of the vitreous and retina, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, macular holes and epiretinal membranes.
Dr Okada completed her fellowship at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne in both medical retina and surgical retina and additional international fellowships in London at Moorfields Eye Hospital and at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver where she was the William H. Ross fellow in vitreoretinal surgery.
She has published more than 30 peer reviewed papers on retinal diseases. Her research interests includes novel retinal imaging techniques, and she was a recipient of the Global Ophthalmology Award Program for her work on retinal imaging using optical coherence tomography angiography.
Dr Okada is a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and is on the College’s national Clinical Standards Committee. She is also involved in several international collaborations for retinal experts including the Vision Academy and the Age-related Macular Degeneration Barometer Leadership Coalition.
DR LUKAS SAHHAR
Cataract and Refractive Surgeon, General Ophthalmologist

Dr Lukas Sahhar is a comprehensive specialist ophthalmologist with additional training in complex cataract and refractive surgery.
He completed his medical degree at Monash University where he received several Dux awards as well as the Robert Power Prize in Surgery, the Neil Carson Prize in Medicine, the Monash Health Board of Management Prize, the Belinda Farrell Medicine Prize and the Hector Maclean Prize in Ophthalmology for Monash University. He received a scholarship to complete his Honours research degree with the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics at Oxford University and has also completed a Master of Public Health.
He undertook his specialist training in Melbourne at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Alfred Hospital, Austin Hospital and Royal Children’s Hospital. As a registrar he was awarded the Australian and New Zealand Glaucoma Society Kath Holmes Prize. He undertook further subspecialist training as the Cataract Surgery Fellow at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne where he gained expertise in managing complex cataract surgery cases and in using modern premium lens technologies.
Dr Sahhar is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and a member of the Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He is a consultant ophthalmologist at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital where he also teaches ophthalmologists in training.

DR TIFFANY LO
Dr Tiffany Lo is a consultant ophthalmologist with subspecialty interests in medical retina, uveitis, and cataract surgery. She graduated from the University of Melbourne, completed her specialist training through the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital (RVEEH), undertook further subspecialty training as a Medical Retina and Uveitis Fellow at RVEEH and subsequently a Medical Retina and Cataract Fellow at Monash Health. During her fellowship, she was actively involved in clinical trials through the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA), deepening her expertise in complex retinal and inflammatory eye diseases. She was also the recipient of the Hector Maclean Research Scholarship at the University of Melbourne.
She currently holds a public appointment at RVEEH, where she is involved in both clinical service and the supervision of trainees. Dr Lo remains active in clinical research, particularly in the areas of medical retina and uveitis, and is passionate about contributing to the future of ophthalmology. She is known for her patient-centred care, clinical precision, and strong commitment to teaching and collaborative practice.
