LUCERNE TRIAL

A PHASE III, MULTICENTRE, RANDOMISED, DOUBLE-MASKED, ACTIVE COMPARATOR-CONTROLLED STUDY TO EVALUATE THE EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF FARICIMAB IN PATIENTS WITH NEOVASCULAR AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION (LUCERNE)

Neovascular age-related macula degeneration is a form of advanced macula degeneration that can cause rapid and severe vision loss.

This study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, durability, and pharmacokinetics of faricimab administered at intervals as specified by protocol, compared with aflibercept once every 8 weeks, in participants with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD).

Faricimab (the investigational product in this study) is an anti-VEGF, however acts on additional inflammatory pathways with the aim of longer lasting results and better visual outcomes than what is currently approved for use.
